The Art of Loving

Is love an art or is it only a pleasant feeling? This chapter presents us the three main mistaken thoughts about loving which are the reasons why love does not success.

The first error is that people are most worried about being loved than loving. There are some methods they follow to be loved: men, above all, think they have to be successful, powerful, rich. Women think they have to be more attractive; and both of them consider important to develop pleasant manners, interesting conversation, etc. We think that we have to be popular and have sex appeal to be loved.

The second error is to assume that the problem of love is the problem of an object, not the problem of a faculty; to think that to love is simple but not to find someone to be loved by. 

The third error is to confuse the initial experience of falling in love and the permanent state of being in love.

To success in love we have to become aware that love is an art, and we have to learn about it and to think there is nothing else more important than to love. 

Love is an Open Door

Today I would like to share with you this amazing video of a mom with her little daughter singing one of the Frozen songs.

Frozen, an animated film produced and released by Walt Disney Pictures, was shot in 2013 and won two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song with “Let It Go”. This film, which tells the story of two princesses, and specially its soundtrack were a total success. Since the apparition in theatres of Frozen, lots of videos have appeared on Internet with people singing its songs and dressed up as Elsa or Anna.

The video I am sharing with you today is one of many of them, but I especially like it because it is funny and the little girl is lovely; I think that it is important to laugh, and to do it every day, and I am sure that this video is going to make all of you smile. The girl, called Teigan, sings with her mother one of the songs of the film, “Love is an Open Door”. The video has become viral and Teigan and her mom have become so popular that they were invited to The Ellen DeGeneres Show and received a spectacular surprise; I also post the video with the visit.

The Impossible

 

The Impossible is the last movie of the Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona. This film, which was shot in 2012, is based on a real story experienced by a woman called María Belón and her family. 

The plot is set in Thailand, in 2004. A couple and their three children go there on a Christmas holiday and are enjoying their time when a tsunami inundates the area. Maria, the mother, finds her older son, Lucas, when she tries to emerge from the water. When they are safe, they find people who transfer them to a hospital. Maria has serious injuries and Lucas does his best to support her and to help other people to find their relatives.

While Lucas and Maria think that their relatives are dead, Henry, the father, is sure that his family is still alive, and he is determined to find them. Sometimes, believing the impossible keeps you alive, and the impossible is that an entire family, lost in the middle of a tragedy, could reunite. 

What I consider absolutely striking in this movie is the spectacular performance of the leading actress, Naomi Watts; it is powerful, convincing, absolutely astounding. The plot is also remarkable; it is absorbing, no matters if you know the end, it is riveting and moving.

On the other hand, the special effects are breathtaking: the tsunami, the desolating photography, everything is spectacular. And, also the soundtrack is significant.

I would say that it is a wonderful film that is well worth seeing. If nothing else, it will move you.
